I have only tested with headphones and inputting a device through a couple of the audio inputs and sound came through fine but I'm just not sure about that light. BTW, is the 'on/standby' light supposed to remain lit when the power button is pressed off but unit still plugged in? I can go Ebay for a real Denon or locally for a universal, but if I go universal, I just need to know the decent ones for the price - I would of course like to spend as little as possible. Can anyone give me a list of other Denon remotes that will control setup and at least all the basic functions of the 3802? I would like to use another Denon, but if there are very inexpensive options as far as universal remotes that I can easily purchase locally, I'm all for that, too. It originally came with the RC-884 remote I believe. I recently bought a used Denon AVR-3802 with no remote control.
